Who is responsible for your data
Aloutrip publishes Aloutrip and is responsible for processing your personal data. Contact: contact@aloutrip.com.
What data we process
- Account: phone number (to send you a login code by SMS), first name, gender (only to offer women-only rides), optional profile photo, role (driver, passenger or both), language.
- Rides and bookings: rides you publish, requests you send or receive, messages exchanged with the other person, reviews, reports and blocks.
- Vehicle: make, model, colour and plate of your car, if you are a driver.
- Verification: a photo of your ID document, a selfie holding it and, for drivers, a photo of your driving licence with a selfie holding it too, plus the result of the check and the document expiry date.
- Location: only when you choose to share it (live sharing with a loved one or SOS alert). It is not tracked otherwise.
- Technical data: notification token of your phone, and the connection logs needed to keep the service secure.
Why we use it
- To provide the service: create your account, show and manage rides and bookings, let members message each other (performance of the contract).
- To keep members safe: verify identity and driving licence, handle reports and blocks, detect abuse and fraud (legitimate interest and legal obligations).
- To send you notifications about your bookings and verification (with your consent on your phone).
- To share your position with the people you choose, when you ask for it (your consent).
Who receives your data
We do not sell your data. It is processed by the providers that make the service work: our hosting and database provider (Supabase), the provider that sends login codes by SMS, the push notification services of Apple, Google and Expo, and the host of this website. The other member sees only what is needed for a ride: your first name, photo, rating, verification badges and, once a booking is accepted AND the cash payment confirmed in the app, your phone number. Until then, you can only message each other in the app.
Identity and licence documents
The photos you send for verification are stored privately. Only the verification team can open them, only to check your identity and licence; they are never shown to other members. They are deleted when you delete your account.
Location
Your position is only recorded while a live share is active, is visible only to people who have the link, and stops automatically after 12 hours or as soon as you stop it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile › Delete my account): your profile, photos, phone number, documents, messages, reviews, reports and shares are then deleted or anonymised, and your upcoming rides and bookings are cancelled.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete or object to the use of your data, and ask for its limitation. Most of this can be done directly in the app; otherwise write to contact@aloutrip.com. You can also complain to the data protection authority: in Morocco the CNDP (law 09-08), or the authority of your country of residence if you live in Europe.
Transfers outside Morocco
Our providers may host data outside Morocco, including in the European Union. We choose providers that apply appropriate safeguards.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), access to data is restricted by rules in the database, documents are stored in a private space, and the login session is kept in your phone’s secure storage.
Cookies
This website uses no advertising or tracking cookie. The web version of the app keeps your login session in your browser so that you stay signed in.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
